1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you:

Types of Information We Collect

Personal Information	Email address, display name, and profile details you choose to add, such as your driving experience level and the cars in your garage
Usage Data	Information about how you use our app, including lap times, GPS data, accelerometer data, telemetry information, and performance analytics, plus session details you add such as notes, tags, and tire information
Device Information	Information about the equipment used to record your sessions, such as an external GPS device's model and serial number, and the app version
Website Data	Standard web request data processed when you use getstint.app, such as your IP address in our hosting providers' server and security logs

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, maintain, and improve our services
Send technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages
Respond to your comments, questions, and provide customer service
Communicate with you about products, services, offers, and events
Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities
Personalize and improve your experience
Generate personalized driving analysis using AI-powered services

3. AI-Powered Analysis

Our Race Engineer feature generates a personalized debrief of your session. It is off by default — nothing is analyzed or sent until you opt in by choosing a tier in the app under Settings > Race Engineer.

The data-only and on-device tiers generate your analysis entirely on your phone; your session data is never sent to an AI service. Only the Cloud AI tier sends data to a third-party AI service, as described below.

What Data Is Sent (Cloud AI tier only)

If you choose the Cloud AI tier, we send aggregated performance metrics to the AI service. This may include, but is not limited to:

Lap times, speeds, and G-force data
Turn-by-turn metrics and sector analysis
The track name and layout, and the session's date and time
Weather conditions and condition tags (like "wet" or "drying") during your session
Tire compound and pressures
Car information, including any nickname you gave the car
Your self-reported driving experience level

What Data Is NOT Sent

On any tier, we do not send the following to the AI service:

Personal account information (name, email address)
Your session notes
Raw GPS coordinate traces
Video recordings

How Your Data Is Processed

On the Cloud AI tier, your aggregated session data is sent to a third-party AI service provider solely to generate your driving analysis. Under the provider's API terms, your data is not used to train their models. We keep the generated analysis with your session data, and retain a record of each analysis request and its result in our own systems for reliability, rate limiting, and abuse prevention.

Opting Out

The Race Engineer is off by default and requires your explicit consent before any session data is sent to an AI service. You can turn it off at any time, or switch to the data-only or on-device tier, under Settings > Race Engineer (the Profile > Privacy & Data screen explains these controls). When turned off, no session data is transmitted to the AI service.

4. Cloud Backup

Authenticated users can back up session data to our cloud service. This includes session metadata, lap times, telemetry, and analysis data.

What Is Backed Up

When cloud backup is enabled, the following data is stored in the cloud:

Session metadata (track name, date, car, tire, notes, tags, weather)
Lap times, sector times, and brake marker data
GPS telemetry and accelerometer data
Pre-calculated analysis and AI-generated reports
Video recordings you choose to back up

Opting Out

Cloud backup is enabled by default for authenticated accounts (video backup is separate and only happens when you choose to back a video up). You can turn cloud backup off at any time in Profile > Privacy & Data. When turned off, no new session data is uploaded and no further session changes are pushed to the cloud, but sessions that were already synced remain in the cloud; account settings, such as your profile preferences and consent records, still sync. Because leaderboards are built from your synced sessions, turning Cloud Backup off also removes you from every leaderboard (see Section 5).

You can remove individual sessions from the cloud by deleting them in the app while Cloud Backup is enabled — deleting a session locally also removes it, including any backed-up video, from the cloud. If Cloud Backup is turned off at the time of deletion, the local copy is removed immediately and the cloud deletion is queued: it completes if you later turn Cloud Backup back on.

Deleting your account removes your data from your device immediately; removal of your cloud data, including backed-up videos, is processed within a few days of your request.

Data Storage

Cloud backup data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption by third-party infrastructure providers acting on our behalf: session and account data with our database provider (Supabase), and video recordings with our video hosting and streaming provider (Mux). Your data is associated with your account, and we share it only as described in Section 6 (Information Sharing).

5. Leaderboards

Each track configuration has a leaderboard showing every participating driver's fastest eligible lap there. Leaderboards are off by default: nothing about you appears on any board, and you cannot view a board, until you join by tapping "Join the leaderboards" on the confirmation sheet the app shows the first time you open one. Joining requires a display name and Cloud Backup, since boards are built from your synced sessions.

What Other Drivers See

Once you join, every other participating driver can see, for each track where you have an eligible lap:

Your display name
Your best lap time at that track, and the date you set it
The make and model of the car you were driving (not its nickname)
The tire compound you recorded for that session, if you entered one
The conditions during that session: the weather at the track (its description, and the air and track temperatures), and any surface tags you added, such as "wet" or "drying"
Your GPS source (the device type, and the sample rate for external devices)
The track and configuration
The telemetry recorded during that lap, which they may compare against their own: its GPS points (driving line and speeds), accelerometer data (G-forces), and any vehicle data you record through an OBD connection

Leaving

You can leave at any time under Profile > Privacy & Data > Leaderboards. Your times come off every board immediately, and you will no longer be able to view boards until you rejoin. Turning off Cloud Backup, or deleting your account, also removes you from every board.

6. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties without your consent, except as described in this Privacy Policy. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

With your consent or at your direction
To comply with legal obligations
To protect rights, privacy, safety, or property
In connection with a business transaction (merger, acquisition, etc.)
With service providers who assist in our operations
With AI service providers to generate driving analysis from your aggregated session data, only if you enable the Cloud AI tier (never your name or email address)
With our weather data provider (OpenWeatherMap), which receives your session's location to look up the conditions at the track
With our map providers (Mapbox in the app; Esri on the website's track pages), which receive standard web requests — including your IP address and the map area being viewed — when map imagery loads
With our development tools if you submit a track correction or request on the website and choose to include your name or email with it
With other drivers who have joined the leaderboards, if you join too: your display name, best lap time per track and the date it was set, car make and model, tire compound, the weather and surface conditions during that session, GPS source, track, and the telemetry recorded during that lap (GPS points, accelerometer data, and any vehicle data you record through an OBD connection), as described in Section 5 (Leaderboards)

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal information
Correct inaccurate data
Download a copy of your data
Request deletion of your data

Downloading Your Data

You can export your data yourself, directly from the app or the web dashboard, at no additional cost:

Full account export — in the app, Profile > Privacy & Data > Download My Data produces an archive of all your data (account details, sessions, laps, telemetry, sector times, brake markers, cars, and AI analysis) as an open-format SQLite database with a README describing its contents, with or without your video recordings.
Per-session export — a session's Telemetry Data section in the app, or its Export card on the web dashboard, exports that session's GPS and telemetry data as CSV, JSON, or GPX; the dashboard can also download a session's backed-up video.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses two kinds of browser storage:

Essential — cookies that keep you signed in to your account, and browser storage for your preferences (such as units) and unsaved work (such as track editor drafts). These are required for the site to function.
Analytics — we use Google Analytics to understand which pages get read. It loads only if you accept it in the cookie banner shown on your first visit; if you reject it, no analytics run and the site works exactly the same. Your choice is remembered in your browser — to change it, clear the site's browser data and the banner will ask again.

We do not use advertising cookies or sell data collected through cookies.

10. Age Requirements

Our service is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
